Ripoff One way to cancel membership

If you've tried to cancel your membership via a doctor's note and/or change of address, here's one last approach that has worked for 3 friends of mine.

Go into the front entrance of the Bally's at which you're a member, and complain to the manager about some OTHER aspect of the gym like the hours, cleanliness, etc. (out in the open, do not go in his office). Make a very big (and LOUD) scene about it. Scream to other potential customers in the sales office not to join.

When the manager threatens to call the police, insist that you're welcome to be there since you're a member. Hopefully, the manager will threaten to cancel your membership. If he really does call the police, just leave and return the next day and do the same thing. Repeat daily until they cancel your membership.

It may not be a civilized approach, but sometimes you just just have to fight on their terms.
