Ultra Body Fitness, a dishonest business lacking customer service

If thinking about personal training with Ultra Body Fitness, of Hialeah, FL, be prepared for a less than satisfactory experience: I joined like many who sought results and motivation to become slimmer and healthier. I am 50 years old and have worked out since age 25 assiduously, yet 3 years ago I herniated 2 lumbar disks playing racquetball and was forced by medical advice to stop all strenuous exercise which included, naturally, lifting any sort of weights. I became completly depressed but continued doing cardio and pedalling a bike, but little by little started to gain weight, no matter how little I ate. At UBF, they promised to provide me with a trainer who could help me w/ modifications of exercise routines to get me back on track. I thought it would be a good idea to join, as I would be forcing myself to do the exercise and regain my drive and motivation. A year and a half later, I supousedly went from 55% BMI to a meager 44% BMI, and my weight went up 3 pounds after working out w/ 5 different trainers (3 of whom were completely unreliable and each cancelled at least 6 continuous sessions, 1 crook of a trainer refused to train me for the 45 min. I had paid for and wanted to train me for only 30 min total, this despite my continuous complaints) and overall, none of these so-called certified trainers had any inkling about exercise modifications, so despite eating less, eating nutritious and working out 3 to 4 times per week, the only thing I gained was weight and more pain after each session. When I sent my certified letter in the mail at the end of my contract, I received my receipt confirmation on the 3rd of the month, yet they still charged me for one more month on the 25th. When I called UBF to complaint about the above, their complete lack of customer service skills surfaced when I found out that the person on the phone (Eric Toledo) was the one who had signed the mail receipt confirmation, but yet he acted as if my cancellation was never received and insisted on getting a tracking number - as no reminders, mails, phone calls, nor any other form of notice regarding the end of the client contract are customarily send by reliable service companies who wish to retain your business in honest ways.
Hence, this is a company which promotes unethical practices, they do not know yet resort to dishonest practices to retain their clients, they only care about renewing contracts, get upset when you won't renew a contract, God forbid you may be temporarily unemployed, the manager of the local UBF program will still try to make you renew your contract even if you tell him you DO NOT HAVE AN INCOME, DUH!!), and slam you with an undesired automatic month-by-month renewal, which I keep reading is the norm at mediocre businesses who have no sales skills, lack the know-how to maintain their own trainers motivated to give their best (these guys receive $12 DLS an hour at best!!!)an lack the ethics to care about program consistency and the best interests of the unsuspecting victims... I mean, clients. Programs like this should be exposed, what disgrace of a company when they need to rely on lies, scams and crooked practices. If this is what business in this country means nowadays. SHAME ON YOU, AMERICA!!
