Without notice~auctioned everything I own three days after Christmas

I had to put ALL my earthly possessions in storage on Oct. 20, except for enough clothing for 3 days. My intention was to help my daughter with a new baby and look for a place close to her to live. I ended up staying through the holidays and on Dec. 30 got a postcard that my storage had been auctioned and sold on Dec. 28. That was 69 days after I rented the storage.
I had gotten a bill dated Dec. 19 showing a past due of $46.50~but no mention of an auction date 9 days later. I had called their office on Dec. 26,27, and 28th to make arrangements to pay my bill, but got no call back.
Clearly, they had my address or I would not have gotten the post card after the sale. They had 2 phone numbers, and my email address!!! I had opted for electronic notification on my contract-but nothing!
Devastated does not begin to describe the panic and terror I experienced! 60 years old and not a dish or towel or furniture or Christmas decorations etc, etc, etc. My family pictures, my personal records~My Son had recently passed away and everything that belonged to him was gone. I begged the manager to contact the person that bought my things so I could get my personal items, he claimed he didn't have any way to know who it was and refused to call them.
All my boxes were clearly marked!!! I got 2 small boxes of pictures back that looked like they had been pulled out of the trash! They had made a profit on the sale so I got a check for $400~MY GOD!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?!?!??
I have pictures of the contents of the locker, taken while I was moving in, and pictures of the inside of the uhaul truck and my Grandson helping me move. It took me 3 days to put everything in there, mostly by myself. The manager frequently came by to chat (or maybe take inventory) he even helped me jump the truck when the battery died. I almost think that there was a mistake and the wrong locker got auctioned.
Do those TV shows ~ Storage Hunters - or whatever - encourage these facilities to cheat and steal from their customers? It sickens me to see these people make a profit from the misfortune of others!
I want them stopped! I want to be compensated for the loss of property and the misery I have endured trying put my life back together. I'd love to put one of them in an empty home with no furniture, no utensils, no clothes, no tools, no make up or hair appliances, no sheets, no towels, no TV, no books or movies, NO NOTHING!!
