Gift Cards - Shoes

I was given a $50.00 gift card and purchased a pair of shoes for $45.00. At the front of the store is a sign that if you gift balance is $10.00 or less you may have cash. I was told that could not be done, then I showed them the sign and was told this was an old sign and no longer valid. I told them that they could not display a sign that they could not honor, that is false advertising. They have been selling gift cards all over the Christmas period with this sign and now all of a sudden it is not valid. I asked for the manager and was told they could not override the computer. I asked for the customer support number. After about 30 minutes of them realizing I was not going away. The girl at the store called customer support and was told that indeed it can be done but it needed to be overridden by the manager who was out probably doing her own shopping so no manager was in the store to give me my five dollars. I was told I could come back at another time when the manager would be back, five miles for five bucks is it really worth it. I will not use the store again, not a pleasant experience.
