Family Dollar
I was physically grabbed by my boss when i turned my back on him to advoid arguing with him

I was hired in June as a manager for Family Dollar. I was given very little train but because of my stong management back ground and the help of another manager I learned what I needed to know, I have work for some ruff bosses before but this guy was a a ruthless pig.

I should have realized eariler when he would boast about making another female manager cry, that something was wrong. For a while he seemed ok but when it seemed the company was leaning on him he took it out on everyone. H never once offered me help as a new manager. I didn't see him for like the first couple of months. Then around the holidays he started coming in and yelling about the things not being right. He could never asked you anything without raising his voice or insulting you.

A couple of months after i was there, he had been reported from not only the employees of a store for his ignorance but by a couple of customers that were around to hear him chew out a manager. He for a short time was just as nice as could be. This tells me the company was aware of his problem. This didn't last long because he started with his anger again.in february we were to have a managers meeting at the store I managed.
He ran late that morning for the meeting and that put him in one of his moods. H statred in on me about something and because all the managers were in the meeting room I didn't want anyone to see him yelling at me. I kepted walking away from him telling him i did not want to argue with him. When he got close to me after chasing me around the store, I turned my back on him and he grabbed my arm and flung me around. Little did I know but one of my employees were watching all of this. I was going to go home but I told him before I did I was going to call him boss. He told me I would not have a job if I did. I needed my job so I collested myself and went into the meeting.

After the meeting I meantioned to another manager what he had done and asked her if she thought i should report it.

She told me it didn't do any good when he was turned in before. Another manager over heard my conversation and it got back to him. He can into talk to me and all but admited what he did and said he liked me and wanted to start over.

He started messing with me. I had fired one manager and one quit. So from Thanksgiving to April 29th i had only one day off. I repeatedly emailed him for help. I received none.

Then one day he came in ranting and raving about someone was stealing and told me no one could carry keys but me. So this meant i was to open and close seven days a week. I told him i couldn't possible and then i was fired.

I ALSO FOUND OUT THAT THE 2 MEN WHO DID THE SAME JOB i did not more than 10 blocks away were paid more than me and I had more experience.

I won my unemployment.
He also had given me a bad reference.
There is so much more. After reading some of the other peoples complaints, so much can back to me.
