I was an assistant manager for family dollar for 5 years before taking a managers position with family dollar for an additional almost 2 years. I new about the long hours and hard work but a new stipulation was made that managers would only have to work 52 hours a week. I told my then district manager of my condition and that if it became to much on my health that i would have to step back down and it was agree i would and go back to my original store if i wanted to.
By Nov. Of 2011 I requested to step down as i was working 70 to 80 hours a week with most weeks not having a day off
I discussed it with my new district manager and she asked if i could give her time to replace me I agreed and staid every time someone was to come she sent them to another store I waited until June my replacement came in I was then ask to help another store. Before leaving my store I informed the new manager of problems in the store with employees.
About 2 weeks went by and i received a call from family dollars Loss Prevention asking if while i was a manager did i have anyone working off the clock I stated I did not he basically called me a lire and stated they wanted reputable honest employees at there stores. About another week later when i went into work the manager fired me stating our district manager called and told her to...
Now I am out of work they owe me for 11 vacation days because I could not take them because I would go over payroll and they owe me my yearly bonus about $2500. When i filed for unemployment they stated the District manager stated she didn't have proof... I would like to know why they can get away with this and why no one will help me...???
