Credit adds additional charges after payoff

Serveral months back i decided to pay off all my credit cards. Jc penny in particular was contacted by phone and a pay off ammount was given. Payment was made in full to jc penny's.
In the following months jc penny, s collectors was trying to collect late charges after the date of pay off.
They said the payment was recieved after the cutoff date. However my bank shows the payment paid before the cutoff billing cycle date.
They have called on my phone everyday sometimes twice a day.
If you have experienced the same, i'd be gglad to lead a class action suit. This practice needs to be stopped.
