Tommee Tippee
Element breaking up

Hi, I have the tommee tippee steriliser for approx 3 months. There are small black spots appearing on the element where some of the heating plate has come away. It seems to be happening everytime I use the steriliser for the past month. Is this harmful and why is this happening? I am worried it is harming my baby's health.
