Brian Willette, E. Brian Willette, Ernest Paul Willette Booze breathed and Incompetent handyman RIPPED US OFF!

My wife and I contracted with a local handyman we found on CraigsList to help us get our house ready to sell. The guy who came out advertises his name as and goes by "Brian" Willette. His real name is Ernest Paul Willette. Unless at the time of this writing he's taken care of them, perhaps the reason he's lying about his name is because of the warrants for his arrest through Dallas PD. He touts his military background and promotes himself as an "ex-marine." (Every service member who formally served in the Corps never refers to themselves as "ex" Marines.instead they say, "I'm a former Marine because once a Marine always a Marine.")

He showed up to give me an estimate on July 11th to replace tile in both of our bathrooms and do a few other things around the house that would require nothing in the way of purchases on his part. He asked for (which I foolishly gave him) a down payment of $200 to cover half the cost of materials even after I explained to him that we were providing everything he'd need. The day after "Brian" got the $200 advance, our twelve yr. Old son developed an illness that required inpatient hospitalization so we weren't able to get "Brian" back out until almost three weeks later when our boy was released from the hospital.

I called "Brian" and explained to him the reason for the delay in getting him back out, explained to him because of our move to Houston we were making two house payments and with the illness and hospitalization of our son we were now three weeks or more behind in getting our house listed. He gave me his assurances he'd be at our home the next day. He showed up with booze on his breath and was 2 1/2 hrs. Late. He assured us he knew what he was doing. He had me purchase a bucket of flooring material we didn't need that was in excess of $100. He applied backer board material the first day but before leaving asked for payment for that day's work (keep in mind he already has $200) because he said he needed to pay his electric bill. I gave him $124 which was all the cash I had.

He showed up the next day over 3 hrs. Later than the agreed upon time, put down tile in the bathroom. The tiles were uneven, the lines weren't straight, he didn't properly apply the tile mastic or "float" the material that levels the floor AND asked for more money. I gave him $12 just to get rid of him. We had to hire another tile contractor and handymen the next day. The tile contractor's work was artisan/craftsman perfect. He had to remove and scrape up everything "Brian" had done. DO NOT hire "Brian" or Ernest Paul Willette. Do not give him any money. He is a scam artist and con man of the worst kind.
