Kohl's
Kohl's not such a great place to work afterall

I worked for the company for almost 3 years before I realized that they were never going to give me the recognition that I deserved. When I first started everything was fine except the hours and expectations for one person. The store closes at 10 but the can MAKE you stay till 11 to clean up what other employee's couldn't do. I don't know about other people that have worked there but I NEVER got help in housewares when I needed it, instead they would make me hurry up so I could go help women's for 20 min... Really?!?!?!?!?!?! The other thing I was asked if I wanted the shoe lead... Of course I said yes, well a month later I got interviewed for the job... Okay so they don't go by past performances or the fact that I have been there for 2 years at that point so whatever... So my interview could not have been at a worse time, we had a shipment that needed to be put up... It was power hours, so very busy, and my manager thought 10 min before I left would be a great time to do my interview. Not to mention he had pissed me off earlier during the day. So after my interview which I thought was putting me on the spot at the time and rushed I find out it wasn't that great and they wanted to transfer someone from another store, right before the holiday's real smart move there! Shortly after January I told myself I would look for my second job that I have stopped caring about this place... I finally got my second job in April at a bank starting out with 30 hours. I was of course very happy with getting hours since Kohl's would cut mine to 18 or have me work 25... No consistency what so ever. Also my new job started me out at 10.00 a hour instead of working somewhere almost 3 years and only making 7.67. So shortly after I started my new job and got more comfortable I decided to quit Kohl's. I would say it is a good job for a teenager or someone in college for extra money but for how much they pay you and how much they expect you to do it is not really worth it. It is a shame that I got treated they way I did because I wanted to stay there for awhile and have it become a career... But I guess that only happens for the "favorites"
