National Express Inc
Fraud, Liar, Arrogant, Uncivil, SCAM!

My husband and I started planning our move from Shreveport, LA to Caldwell, WV over the phone with National Express over a month before our move date. I spoke to both Sandra and Jena about the amount we were moving, and even over estimated the amount of boxes she requested was typical. We were quoted $1,800 with a move date of July 15th.

When the movers arrived two days after our move date, we had reduced our items to be moved, and we were told by Andrew, the truck driver, that our move would most likely end up being less than the original $1,800 quoted. Once we'd payed the 60% down in cash and after the truck was already loaded with all ofour things, we were told it would be an additional $600 because of cubic feet differences. Andrew told my husband we'd taking up 750 total cubc feet; while telling me that we had a total of 150 cubic feet. On our contract (that we had to sign before the additional cubic feet box was filled in) Andrew wrote that we had gone 600 cubic feet over our estimated 700 cubic feet. With all the confusion, we figured it would be best to talk to his supervisor, Adam. We attempted to call Adam numerous times that same day and did not hear back from himuntil 2 days later. At that time, Adam started the conversation saying that he would "give no discount"and we were "locked into a contract and there was nothing you could do about it". I asked Adam if we could move our stuff from the truck at the office in Atlanta, GA, and was toldthat I would be charged $400 to cancel our move and have access to our things.

The truck was suppose to arrive in West Virginia Thursday, July 19th. On Friday, Adam called to say the truck wouldn't be in West Virginia until Monday. Today (the Monday we were supposeto have our things), we called the office to check on the arrival time; we were told that the truck wouln't be there until Thursday. Adam said we misunderstood our contract, and that all of the dates were estimated. Also, he added once again that we were locked into the contract.

In addition to the poor service and insane increase in price; I have personally never experinced dealing with such a rude, arrogant, and uncivil manager and company. I was screamed at, hung upon, and taken advantage of. I will be contacting the better buisness bureau. I recommend that you do nottrust your valuables and money with this company. It is a scam!
