BEWARE OF THE INTRODUCTORY RIPOFF..., or offer as they call it

Shops, Products, Services

I received a wonderful offer from Stamps.com in the mail today. A Free account, 4 weeks of free service, free $5 in postage, a free scale and a $25.00 Amazon Gift Certificate.

I registered then noticed my welcome email made no reference to the Amazon Gift Certificate so I called customer service. They informed me that I would be offered the $25.00 Amazon GC AFTER the 4 week trial period and ONLY if I paid the next month of service at the rate of $15.99. But they wanted me to talk to a supervisor so they transferred me to Dana emp # 7148. She wasted 5 minutes explaining what the first rep already advised me of and ended the call with the comment " it wouldn't make very good business practice to hand out gift cards without people joining."

Simply, I fell prey to the oldest trick in the book, bait and switch. The offer looked great, and they wrote to make one think it was worth trying their service and get rewarded with a $25.00 gift card.

BEWARE of the bait and switch.

I cancelled 5 minutes after I joined. Lot of work for nothing.
