Judy L. Jones Deceptive practices, won't make repairs

Use caution when using Great Smoky Investments and Judy L. Jones to rent a home. She likes to pretend to be nice but is far from it. She also refuses to make repairs to the properties that the company manages.

When we first moved into our rental home, we reported two separate repairs that needed to be made. One was a leak that caused the floor to rot and become soft. This repair was made after about a month but then leaked again shortly after. It was reported again and was never repaired.

It remained not being repaired for a year and a half (we moved out). Another repair was the front porch was cracked and sinking. It was about a half an inch sunk when we moved in. Upon moving out, it was about two and a half inches. Judy Jones admitted that other properties where like that too.

During a home inspection, she even stated that the basement stairs were in great condition compared to some of the other homes she had. That doesn't sound like someone that is worried about fixing things.

Another repair that needed to be made was caused by hail damage in April. It was reported immediately after it occurred. It has been a year and there are still holes in the vinyl siding. She claims that they can't find anyone to repair the damage. However, that house is the only one on the street which has not been repaired.

In addition to not making repairs, she attempts to make deals and then backs out on them. We were behind on rent due to job loss. We had made an agreement to get the rent paid, she then, however, backed out of that deal and stated it was never made.

Be careful before you put your hard earned money into a rental property run by this company. It may seem nice at first but it becomes clear how she really runs her company. Go with a private renter. It is likely cheaper and less hassle.
