RIP-OFF Liars thieves scam artists crooks frauds

I hired Global Moving Services to move my mother and me from Calumet City, Illinois to Bedford, Texas. My sales representative was named Eric, who received an itemized moving list over the phone and gave a quote of $2550.00. A deposit of $510 was required to lock in the reservation, which I sent via money order through the mail, and two equal payments of $1020 to be paid upon pickup and delivery of our furniture.

On the day of the move, the movers arrived two hours late. I had already paid a moving fee of $200 dollars to the management office of our condo, which was refundable provided that the moving was complete by 4pm. The movers took several breaks, and an unusually long lunch. The end result was that the movers didn't finish until after 8pm. My deposit was lost. The movers then wanted an additional charge for a direct move from illinois to Texas. The movers then claimed that additional space was required on the truck, and added an additional $1200 to the bill. The driver also claimed that they were unaware of the deposit that had already been paid, and attempted to add it to the bill.

Once in Texas, the mover informed us that our balance was now $2467.00. Only $1020 was available, so it was given to the driver, who kept our furniture and told us that it would be place in storage. My mother cashed in her IRA to obtain the $1447.00 to pay the balance, but was told by Leo that an additonal $750.00 is now required. We've been sleeping on the floor for 3 weeks, without any of the household items that we require. We're now anticipating an additional charge to obtain our possesions from the storage facility, which to this day is still unknown to us.

We've basically lost everything and have nowhere to turn. Is there anyone who can help us?
