John Ramp (John Joseph Ramp III) offerred to represent me on landlord dispute and asked me for a two thousand dollar retainer in cash. I thought it was a bit peculiar, and inquired as to why. He explained that if I paid by check his partners would not allow him to take the case without at least a four thousand dollar retainer. I assumed that he had lawyer partners, but later learned that he was on salary for a group of vietnamese "office managers". I initially thought that it was strange that when I called or visited there were Vietnamese people everywhere. Finally, I understood that this was probably an illegal operation where a group of unlicensed (non-lawyers) hires typically a desparate, pathetic lawyer who is unable to maintain his or her own law practice, and pays this lawyer a percentage or a flat salary on case they fabricate or spoonfeed. These types of so-called "practices" are not controlled by the licensed attorney. They usually run bogus insurance and personal injury scams.
Mr. John J. Ramp (check out his bar record - flunky who had been suspended for failing to pay child support; attended unaccredited law school) never provided me with any services. I ended up loosing thousands and hiring a new attorney, and coming up with another retainer. I filed a complaint with the CA state bar, but other than an inquiry and an investigation, the bar had done nothing. There is no point for me to sue John Ramp, as I suspect he is not only judgment-proof, but also indigent. He has mortgaged his dignity, integrity, and professional license long ago.
When I demanded that Ramp provide me with the services that I paid for. He called me "sumbacket", and told me that he would sue me and my entire family. I asked him for what, and he replied "I am a lawyer. I can sue anyone for anything." John J Ramp would make a maggot gag. I want the world to know about my experience and my feelings about this jerk who is not much of a lawyer, just a faulmouthed punk.
