Shoplifting Accusation at Kohl's Department Store

I was highly upset after going into my local Kohl's store (which I shop at frequently) to exchange a pair of shoes. I exchanged my shoes and browsed the store and was already constantly followed by employees, but as I was leaving the store I was accused of trying to steal an Ipod radio (an item that I do not need or want). Because I picked up the item and thought about buying it and put it back, I was accused of stealing it. I have had a few terrible run ins with this store, but considering I was an employee for their Corporate offices I decided to get over their terrible customer service. This incident put me over the top. It was embarrassing and the loss prevention lady Lauren was the rudest person I had ever met. She even accused me of not purchasing the original pair of shoes I came in to exchange! She accused me of trying to use the other department store bags I had with me to steal from their store, which is ridiculous and makes no sense. Why would I use Walmart bags to steal from Kohl's? Especially since I am already walking out of the store with a Kohl's bag that big enough to put something so small in. I have heard of Kohl's racially profiling their customers, but until today I had never actually taken it that seriously. I have always been followed in the store whenever I am there, but being an African-American I sometimes expect that. I will not be giving my business to this company again, and I am putting this review and this incident on every social networking and website I can. I am truly disrespected and unhappy with Kohl's. To top it all off the worker who supposedly found the empty box, left the office after I willingly emptied my purse and she made sure the items were in there. I'm no theif so I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that if I were going to steal something from a store (to which I already have gone to a register and have received a bag) I wouldn't linger around and take my time taking the merchandise out of the many pieces of cardboard inside the box; and then linger around even more in the store looking through the racks (even though I see employees constantly following and watching me). Like I said before this incident has definitely put me over the top with Kohl's, I thought I was upset with them and the way they treat their employees; but the way they treat their customers is far worse. I mean come on, I even let them pat me down and search everything I had. If I had knowingly stolen from them I would've ran, or been completely uncooperative. I can honestly say that I absolutely hate Kohl's Departments Stores. I now have a citation and a bad reputation because no one would listen to me as I sat in that office (calm and cooperative). Apparently a young black woman in sweats an a hoodie is unable to afford anything in their low quality store.
