Unfair or illgegal collection practices

This is a debt collection firm. This law firm started calling me before I even received an initial letter from them. Their initial letter states I have 30 days to reply or dispute this bill. I was trying to resolve a dispute with HSBC credit card company, their client, only to learn that it had been sent to this agency for collections.

I have called multiple times to set up payment arrangements and also to inform them that a portion of the bill is in dispute, but they don't seem to hear what you are saying. They continue to call even after I tell them I'm at work and can not dedicate more time to this issue. I asked that they please send a letter. I asked for email, but they claim they don't send out email for such a small amount of money. I aked that the re-fax and they did not.

Now, they are stating I am too late. I guess they are going to put this into litigation eventhough, according to their letter I have 30 days from march 26 to contact them and I've contacted them at least five times between 3/28 and 4/2. I received the letter on 3/30. These overzealous collection firms need to be stopped. It's not as if I have not tried to work with them and I've also tried to work with their client HSBC. I was trying to negotiate lower payments and a stop to late fees and interest. And to my surprise, I have to deal with this illegal law firm. Now, that's oxymoranic!
