When I tried Instant Checkmate, Advertised on the front web page of MSN I discovered it is a definate ripoff. It leads you to belive they do actual crimal record background checks. It does not. I put names of recent known fugitives and criminals with records. Even people I know who have minor offenses and came back with no results. The only thing that came back is last known addresses, population breakdown of that neighborhood, what their house might be worth and possible sex offenders in that area and things like that.

No criminal background history on the person I was actually doing the search on. This is a legalized Scam. When I called back for a refund immediately after discovering I had been had they would only give me back half of my $25 since I performed searches. Nice way to make $12.50 off of every person who tries the service.
