In Feb. 2003 I moved to NC. I called Wheaton on the day of the move to complain about damages and within the allotted time.

I told them about the missing items and put in the claim. The Cust Claims Rep told me they were looking for the boxes that were missing and so far could not find anything.

After the claim was sent with pictures and list of damages and missing items at thier request as well as estimates and bills of repaired items I was told to get by the company my claim was denyed and they were no longer allowed to talk to me on the phone.

Damages were over a hundred thousand dollars and how convenient for them to just dismiss me like I was an invisible entity. They know the client has an emotional investment in family heirlooms and items they bring with them and they prey on that fact. The estimates were only good for 60 days and so I was told to take pictures which I did.

I have written to many people Attorney Generals in Indiana, California, North Carolina, as well as BBB in all three states and The US Dept of Transportation FMCSA. I am still getting responses from these places.

I have talked to attorneys to which it is a $20,000 retainer since this is a Federal issue being interstate. Wheaton knows this and counts on the customer not to pursue due to costs.

Moving cost was approx. $13,000.00 and this is being investigated by the Credit Card Company and am hoping it will be refunded.

I hope this helps someone else and if there is an interest in a class action law suit I am in.
