Rip-off! They refunded money to a closed account instead of exchanging the product as agreed. Rude employees

I purchased a Haier Washer/Dryer combo back in Dec.By May the product stopped working. We tried to get the product repaired, but to no avail. So the next step was to call Walmart.com and get an exchange. That didn't seem to be a problem, they (custmer service) told me that they would have someone call in 2-3 days to set up a time to come pickup the product, then call in about 3wks to deliver the new product. Product was picked up, but got no receipt or letter stating.

The next day I felt funny about the whole thing, so I called customer service to see if they recived the product, they did. I gave them a change of address so they could deliver the new product to my home and not my job like before. They notated the change and said that was fine.

2 weeks later Walmart sent a e-mail saying they had credited the account that we purchased the product by. Big mistake, 1st, we weren't supposed to get a credit, it should have been an exchange. 2nd, no one called to verify the changes that they made to tell us that they were going to give us a credit. 3rd the bank account that I had is now closed, so they sent money to a closed account. Called Walmart.com to see what was up, & talked to a very rude & unhelpful person who hung-up on me.

Called back & talked to the Billing dept. After a week of back and forth they told me I had to get the money back from the bank myself. Bank told me they recieved the money on 6/17/04, but it was sent back to walmart on 6/22/04 because the account was closed. Called Maggie in walmarts billing dept, who we've been talking to, who stated that it could take up to a wk for the money to come back, this was 6/28/04 she said that she would call them on 6/30/04 to see if the money had come back.

Gotta phone call @ work on 7/01/04 stating that Maggie contacted the bank, & they indeed sent the money back to walmart, but walmart has no record of money being sent back to them. So, today it's final that the bank has the money, will be sending me a check, but it was a closed negative account (reason why I didn't want the refund I wanted the product) So, I only get half of my money thanks to walmart.com not verifing if my information had in fact changed. I get punished for them deciding themselves to refund and not exchange, like I asked them to. NO Product! Half of my money! Equals Rip Off!
