Repair estimate was half of what they want to adjust the tonearm on my turntable

I took my turntable, which is very expensive, to have the tone arm adjusted. I should have run at first sight. A lot of vacum, and tv's. Their ad says in business with 40 yrs experience. After paying a diagnostic charge of $250.00, which is outrageous to begin with, to have a tonearm adjusted, i was told that it would surely cover the cost of the service, and if less it would be rebated. 3 weeks later i still had not heard from them. Called several times in a 3 day period and never got to talk to " the person" who had access to my "File" after finally getting him i was told that they could finish repairs to my unit and make it as good as new for an additional $248.00. The same song and dance i assume they put forth with all their service issues. What a wonderful piece of equipment, we will make it better than new. I was told the delay was to obtain a schematic for the turntable, so it could be adjusted to factory specs. It is not a factory machine as it has a upgraded tone arm and cartridge. These people are completly shameless and totaly less than honest. I believe they want you to leave your unit with them and it goes overseas after a period of time. Or something like that. Especially if you have a expensive unit. Do not go into this store for service!!! I do not know what their sales record is but after looking at the bbb rating of f it is evident they dont care. They want to perform service beyond what i requested, at an exorbitant price. They will not see any of my expensive units to service. I just moved here from out of state and was looking for a reputable service center to care for my needs. Run away from the people as fast as you can
