Safe Load Moving & Storage
This moving company is dishonest, disreputable, unprofessional and should not be in business

Shops, Products, Services

I began working with Safe Load Moving & Storage on 10/17. I received information about my move from Las Vegas, NV to Littleton, CO. I put together an inventory and I received a quote from their company. On 12/15 I authorized a move for 12/26 based on my inventory and numerous emails and conversations. I received daily calls from the company rep. Until I authorized service. From that point on it was nearly impossible to get them to take my calls and answer my
questions.

On the day of the move, the person in charge was dishonest, contradictory and horribly difficult to work with. He barged into the apartment and began packing my items even though I had packed myself and was waiting for them to bring the boxes (I paid for) to pack the last of my clothes and pictures in while they moved the furniture.instead of giving me the boxes he instructed his staff to start putting stuff in them and then began pressuring me to sign the contract. When I questioned being charged for work I didn't authorize he began to lie to me and contradict what the salesperson told me and what I agreed to.

He then said he would only charge me $200 more for the "packing" if I would agree to pay a binding price for the move rather than have the Department of Transportation weigh it. It was a small load but he kept saying it would probably be much heavier than the agreed upon weight. He then stated that there would be additional charges if the "18 wheeler" couldn't fit in my neighborhood. After a long hassle, I agreed to pay $200 more and to a binding amount for the move. The man said he owned the company and could do whatever he wanted when I tried to call the office to talk to the person I contracted with.

When the items were finally loaded into their truck, we saw that the truck was about the size of a rental truck, certainly not even close to an 18 wheeler and our items were only filling about a quarter of it. The man then demanded that I tip his workers. The workers were probably contracting with him (maybe under the table) and he wanted me to help him pay what he owed them by asking (actually telling) me to provide a tip even though at that point we had a binding contract. The staff at the apartment complex told me that they had had problems with this mover in the past.in any case, I did not tip them. They glared at my son and I and the apartment manager until they finally left.

The load was supposed to be delivered on 12/31.in spite of my continual calls and emails, the company refused to talk with me and give me a date of delivery. They didn't notify me 24hours prior to the 31st. It was finally delivered by a rental size truck (not an 18 wheeler) on 1/12. They notified me at the wrong number in spite of being told the correct number on many occasions. They were different people than the people I contracted with. The truck was a rental, one you could pick up at Budget or Hertz. It was in no danger of having even close to 18 wheels.

They damaged my furniture severely and were the rudest, most difficult and non-compliant group of people I've ever encountered. We had to call the Sheriff because we were uncomfortable with how they were conducting themselves and refusing to do the job agreed upon. We paid the Sheriff who gave them the money. They did not reassemble anything. (Which was part of the contract for them to do). They were completely unprofessional in attitude, language and dress.

The company lied and lied and lied. They only own one truck and they rent from other people who move your stuff so you dont even know where its been or who has it. Weve filed complaints with the Department of Transportation (a complete waste of time) and the Better Business Bureau. Safe Load Moving and Storage is a horrible company with a horrible way of doing business. I filed what amounted to a legal brief with their insurance company to complain about the damage they caused to my furniture. I wouldnt wish them on my worst enemy. They should not be in business. Please do not use this company - you dont deserve what it will cost you financially and emotionally.
