Charges inspite of a paid for service contract. Rip-off!

I have a Line-guard service with Cavalier my local phone provider. It is supposed to cover any problems in my house telephone wiring from thr box outside to inside the house. I pay every month a $1.30 charge for this coverage. I have been paying for this for months and years without ever asking for any repair.

Then, I had a problem in one of my phone lines. I called them and opened a service ticket. They confirmed it was covered by my plan.

Next, a technician comes, I reconfirm they wouldn't charge me for the repair. He says yes no charge. He works and finally says he will have to have that particular line in my house replaced. For which he said he will have to call another person to do the work. And he said the guy will already be informed of what to do and that I will not have to say or do anything. And again that cavalier will cover the chagres.

In a day or so the other guy shows up replaces the wire and socket. Give me a ticket to sign confirming that work was performed. A month I get a bill from Cavalier for $122 for the repair whic was supposed to be covered by my line-guard coverage.

I called customer services. They said they could not take off those charges and passed me off to collections dept. Which also said she couldn't do anything and asked me to write a written letter to the Cavalier Quality Assurance dept. Which I did today on 6/14 and I have not sent them a patment - yet.

So basically they sold me a service contract to maintain the line, performed a repair, confirmed at each step that it was covered by my plan and turned around and charged me $122 for something I could have done myself for 20 bucks. I had called them just because I was already paying them for this. Other wise I would have done the repair myself.
