Annoying ripoff attempts with illegal phone harassment on false debt, where is our government! Illinois

I have received over six phone calls over the past few months from a variety of the CAMCO representitives asking me for confirmation of my social security number and offering me a settlement on a $1900.00 debt that they say I have owed since 1984. Yet, they cannot provide any other formal details about the assumed debt.

They always ramble on for a few minutes trying to intimidate me, but I know the laws and I am a pretty fast talker and try to give it back to them. They usually hang up when I let them know that I am aware that the FTC recently fined their principle owners for their illegal acts. I also ask them to allow me to record our conversation for my records, so I can use it to sue them for their harassment. They usually shut up and then hang up promptly. However, their calls are starting to come more frequent now and I have been documenting the last few calls for my records.

I plan to fight back and process the required complaints to the proper authorities. Please help me put an end to their scam! I hope that everyone else will also file their complaints and whatever you do, do not give in to them and send them money. We must choke them off from their cash flow! No successful collections; No revenue; No CAMCO!

Unfortuniately, I had filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 1985 and even if this was one of my previous accounts, it would have been included and discharged under the protection of the Federal bankruptcy law. I have worked very hard to rebuild my credit and it has been excellent since 1985. I will be checking my credit reports more often because of CAMCO and I hope our government will shut them down soon!
