Wow I am not alone. After receiving a letter stating I owed $1,904.61 for an old credit card since 1985 this guy preceeded to tell me "Once you owe money you ALWAYS owe the money until it is paid".

Also "there isn't a statue of limitions on old debts." Liar! I have great credit now. Yes it was shaky when I was younger but I have always paid all my bills! This guy said to send him proof that it was paid. How are you going to find proof after almost 20 years?

I have bought cars, houses and refinanced those houses many a time when rates dropped. There was not anything negative that showed up in all that time.

I still have the same address although they do have my maiden name down on the letter. I have been here, at the same address for 20 years. I am not afraid now that I know what a rip off these guys are. What about all those other people out there that don't know, the elderly or the ones that don't have a computer to check things out. Shame on them. I am so thankful for this web page with all its information. Sleeping better tonight!
