UPS Store #1914, Macon, GA.inflated holiday pricing! When the cost of shipping a similar but smaller package goes up in the course of three weeks you know you are being ripped off. My first transaction with this location was pleasant enough in dealing with an employee of the store. My experience dealing with the owner was another story entirely. When I questioned the cost of packaging an item he just kept telling me it is "standard pricing", it didn't matter that less material was used this time... How can that be correct?

I think $8.00 for very little packing peanuts is outrageous! Is this holiday up-pricing or did I look like a mark?

I left the package there for them to ship, then had second thoughts and returned less than 10 minutes later asking for my item back. When I started voicing my complaint about the pricing and that he was taking advantage of customers with this pricing he started yelling at me to "stop taking now". Of course I didn't, I told him to not raise his voice to me and he replied even louder that I should"stop talking now".
I know in the big scheme of things that my complaint is minor compared to what others have had to endure... My never ending question to consumers is why do we tolerate such behavior and treatment? Why do we as consumers continue to support those companies that treat us so poorly? Is it that we are so numb and desensitized that this level of service is now acceptable? Why have we sacrificed service for a little convenience? Why, why why don't we support the small businesses who offer REAL customer service. Our time and money is as valuable as theirs. Why then do we tolerate it?
