Rip-off! No refund, no product!

On Friday, May 4 I went to U.S. Car Stereo and paid via credit card for a vehicle alarm for my wife's new car. They scheduled an installation appointment for 9:00am the following day. While waiting for them to open at around 9:30am I talked to the 6 other people who were waiting. All of them were there due to a bad installation and had various electrical problems as a result.

As a result, my wife was extremely reluctant to have them touch her car. While waiting for over an hour to be recognized, I was informed that they would have to go to another store and pick up the alarm, because they had sold out late Friday afternoon. At that point my wife had enough and I told the clerk that I did not want the unit and would like a credit back to my card so I could be on my way. They flatly refused stating that there are NO REFUNDS. I pointed out that there were no signes or notices posted to that effect and taht no one had made that statement to me.

The invoice I signed states taht there are no refunds on special orders. Mine was s stock shelved product. I asked for phone numbers to call their boss and received THREE bad numbers. Finally I called another of their stores and got the numer of "Jimmy" who is apparently the boss. His attitude was "so what" we have a no refund policy. I pointed out that I did not have teh product and he had my moeny. He said "tough".
