Easterseals UCP North Carolina/Virgina is very unfair to it's employees in a number of ways: 1. It hires almost exclusively part time workers to avoid paying for benefits. 2. Employees who are not billing government programs such as Medicaid for their time are paid minimum wage regardless of the employee's current pay rate. 3. ESUCP NC/VA discriminates against employees with disabilities often giving them positions that they are over qualified for such as custodial work. 4. ESUCP NC/VA also discriminates against it's employees with disabilities by hiring able bodied people for positions in which it's current employees with disabilities are highly qualified for. 5. ESUCP NC/VA often ignores seniority due to what the organization calls "budget issues". 6. Yet somehow, these "budget issues" do not stop the organization from paying for black berry cell phones for those working in the corporate office in Raleigh, NC. 7. When an employee's client is unable to work with them for any reason, that employee must go home for the rest of the day without pay. Even when there is other administrative work that could be done. This is because if the client is not with the employee, the employee can not bill for services (make ESUCP NC/VA any money).
