Ever wonder how they stock their shelves and make money? Trickery and Lies!

Shops, Products, Services

I have shopped at this store several times. When I did some spring cleaning, I decided to take all of my nicer things there—clothes and shoes—to get a little store credit so my teenage daughter could have some fun picking out some different stuff. She was really excited.

When we got there, we were told to sign in and to lay everything out ourselves in a particular section. Then we were told we could either hang out and wait or leave our stuff there if we didn't feel like waiting. It didn't look like they were going to get to it anytime soon, so we thanked them that we didn't have to stick around and left our stuff there Friday evening.

We returned first thing Saturday morning only to be told that since it was left overnight that it was considered donated. What?! I told them that that would have been nice to know before I left the store last night, and some girl (I don't know her name but she had bleach blonde hair and huge eyebrows) actually had the gall to tell me that she informed me yesterday that I had to return to the store before closing.

For starters, no she did not. She was not even the one who talked to me. My daughter is witness to this fact, and couldn't believe that girl lied to us like that. Nobody gave me this information until it was too late. This girl who was so rude also had the gall to say that it was common knowledge that this was the practice at all their stores. How is it common knowledge to me if this is the first time I've ever tried to sell them my stuff?! I was not informed, there were no signs, and to top it all off they told me I could leave without giving me this information!!!

She also acted like they put most of my stuff into the donation bin outside (because it wasn't good enough)—however on the rack behind her I saw a ton of my stuff so I know they are going to sell it. The stuff I brought in was from popular mall stores, most of it was worn only a few times and still looked brand new, and some stuff still even had tags on it. The whole lot I brought in was definitely far better than the junk that's usually on their racks.

How they have no idea what credit they were going to give to me is beyond my understanding. Isn't it written down somewhere? It can't be that hard to find my name on the list from last night, 11/18, section #1 and give me the store credit.

I tried to contact someone higher up, but I can't seem to find anyone. All I could find was their facebook page which says that if you have a question to leave it in the comments and they will get back to you. I left my question, and all they did was delete it and did not address it or try to contact me at all. They are not registered with the Better Business Bureau either, which did not surprise me, they obviously don't deal with any problems.

When I was trying to find information on the internet, I came across a lot of negative customer reviews about this store. Some people even opted to donate their things to charity rather than give it to this store—at least charities help people. I wish I would have known all of this before I attempted to do business with them, I would have given my things to charity as well. Now they are going to make money off of my stuff that I unwittingly donated. Makes me wonder how many other people have had similar experiences. I will never shop there again.
