Ripoff lies to potential customers about long distance rates in order to make a sale

A Bell South sales representative contacted me in March and used fraudulent means to convince me to switch to BellSouth Long Distance. The BellSouth sales representative intentionally provided misinformation about Bell South's Long Distance pricing on international long distance calls.

When I asked the Sales Representative about BellSouth rates to Panama, the representative quoted 32 cents. Since that was less than the 64 cents a minute I pay with my regular long distance provider, I accepted the offer. However, when I received my bill, I discovered that the sales representative had lied to me about the price. BellSouth charged me over three dollars a minute. For a call that would normally cost me $50.56, BellSouth is charging me $239.20.

Given the nature of this problem, I'll take my business elsewhere from now on. And I'll definitely tell other people about my negative experience so they can avoid it in the future. I will also retain the recording I made of the sales representative quoting the erroneous price as evidence of the fraud.
