Unsympathetic toward hospitalization! Rip-off!

My husband was off work for a long time because of surgery. Since it wasn't work related, he didn't get paid during that time. He contacted our creditors, and everyone worked with us except Sam's Credit. They had their lawyer contact us after missed payments, and our payments were doubled. Their constant calling made us decide to switch to cell phones. We were then threatened with court. We contacted a credit counselor, thinking they could get Sam's Club to work with us, but Sam's refused.

After we got back on our feet, not only did we get caught up with payments, but we managed to get ahead in payments to show our good faith. We were taken to court anyway, just to have the judge tell us to do what we were doing already by then, making the monthly payments. On top of that, court costs were added to our payments. Up till the time of surgery, we had always been faithful in making our payments, sometimes paying the entire bill, but they wouldn't take that into consideration.
