Is a rip off!

I saw an ad for 1-800-4Aphone on television where it said "No deposit", but when I went to pay for the service on 12-11-01, which should have been around $50, they told me I had pay $75.00, which I assumed was for the first months service and activation fee. They said the phone would be on in 3-5 days, which it was. However, the number they gave me was someone else's number, I could dial out but could not receive calls. I won't have full services until the 18th but they want the payment for the first bill in less than a week.

My daughter called, gave her name and said that she was calling for me. She then gave them my name and said she wanted the account put in my name. I went down, paid my $75 and when asked for the account name, I told them my name. When I called to find out my number three days later, they had put the account in my daughters name, and said that I would have to pay an additional $17.23 to have it changed into my name.

I called and paid for their services on 12-11-01 ($75.00). After I paid, they then said that on 12-27, I would have my first bill of around $50.00. When I asked what the $75.00 was for, they said it was for the deposit.

People are being lied to about the deposit, which is false advertisement and should have to face legal charges against them. If they would have told me from the beginning about the deposit, I would have gone to another company.

This company should be investigated and put out of business!
