H&S Sprinklers Use caution, this individual over promises and under delivers - Do not use this person/company

I contracted John Hernandez dba H&S Sprinklers to install a sprinkler system for my lawn. I chose his company because he under bid everybody, promised as many zones and sprinkler heads as I wanted and was the only one to offer a Five Year Warranty.

Hernandez started the work a week late. Then his crew worked one day digging all the trenches with a ditch witch and then John Hernandez asked me for a deposit payment to pay his crew for the day. Then he left and didn't return for over ten days until I called him. They returned and buried all the PVC supply lines and left again for a few more days.

I called again and they installed the water valves and control panel. John Hernandez asked to be paid the balance on the Contract and promised to return with some top soil to fill the ruts in my yard and to finish some "minor details". He never returned. The control panel wiring was left exposed.

I called him but he never returned. I bought top soil and filled the ruts left in my yard. When I called John Hernandez for service on the system he never showed up. One day John advised me he had retired. I asked him about the 5 Year Warranty and he said it was no longer in force because his company was closed.
