1) First complaint to the BBB of NY - Advertising Issues - An advertisement misrepresenting a service.

I was misled into a free listing in an on-line form, they contacted me few days later and with an aggressive selling practice defaulted to buy a lifetime membership (with an air ticket as a freebie).

After that, I decided to look the internet about this website and could not find it. I called back to find out with them what exactly was this about, I expressed my concern and asked to be cotacted 2 hours later (12:00pm MT).

They called me back three (3) days later but unfortunately I could not get the call, after that I called to customer service several times and left voice messages and filled the contact form on their website letting them know that I had serious doubts about the service I just paid for and that I want my money back.

After a couple of weeks (May 18) finally got in contact with them and I tried to understand why they were so fast to take my money and it took them to weeks to ackowledge my complaint. At least an email ackowledging that they received my complaint would have been enough to at least consider to keep the service but that is not the case know. I have investigated on the internet and there is not a single piece of information that verify that this is a legit business and neither they did the effort to keep me informed.

2) Second complaint to BBB of NY - Customer Services Issues - The inappropriate behavior by customer service personnel.

I already filed a complaint with BBB (Complaint ID: XXXX499). On June 16th finally I was contacted by a customer service representative and instead of trying to understand my problem I was patronized by this person.

I left a voice message about to weeks ago and nobody replied until now. From the very beginning, more than month ago I expressed my discomfort and all I've got is people telling me that they can not refund my money instead of trying to show me why it is beneficial for me to keep doing business with them.

3) The steps I took:

I cancelled my credit card the next day

Filled the first complaint with BBB

Dealt with their senior representative ("Carla") for almost two month

Filled a fraud complaint with Card Services, they are currently investigating the case

Who's who filled a rebuttal with a scanned copy of the "welcome package" - by the way I never received

My reply to the card service fraud department two days ago:

"This is in response to Standford Whos Who rebuttal to my
claim of chargeback.

1. At this point is not clear to me how this company got my contact info in the first place.

2. I did not hire them to perform personalized advertising services. They will give me access to a database of people to enhance my business.

3. The same day the transaction was done I raised multiple concerns about the real nature of their service. It was after few days when the resolution department started to contact me instead of my sales representative. So evidently the service was not provided as described. I did not have the help to clearly understand what I got for my money. I could not even found their website the first two days.

4. I have never received that welcome package as they described, and no one ever followed up to make sure I received it. And when I told them that I did not received the package they put the blame on me.

5. We went through an almost 2 months period to reach and understanding but it was not possible simply because what they describe was not what I got. The case was run through the Better Business Bureau in New York and that is why they started to contact me so desperate.

6. According to their statement, which Ive never got, they gave me unlimited access to a discount network that I do not know what it is and have never been explained to me. They will put my 20 minutes interview in a black book which I do not have any probe that this book actually exists.

7. The person who handled the call was Danielle XXXXX, which I now assume was new to the company because during the interview she was putting me on hold several times. Every question I asked required her to ask someone before she answers. Unfortunately she did not state their
cancellation policy as they say they did.

8. The personalized airline tickets, which dont even have my name on it (from your scanned documents), are valid for one year when I was told I could use it whenever I want and will never expire.

In short, my reasons are:

The services mentioned on the scanned documents were not provided as they were described in the sales call.

Their refund policy was not clearly explained during the sales call.

They mention a personalized plaque which I refused to have and pay.

I did not receive the welcome package or at least an electronic version or a proof of purchase to be able to verify if the offer matched the service.

I have filed a complaint in the Federal Trade Commission and Im seeking for legal help because I want my name and biography removed from their database, if that ever happened.

They say I need to pay for the advertisement already done on my behalf. Where is that advertisement? Again I did not hire them for that.

If this helps Standford Whos Who, I may write a letter refusing to receive any of their benefits because I do not want it.

At this moment I just hope the card services take the right decision and end this nightmare!

I recommend everyone in these posts to filed complaints on the BBB and card services, this company needs to improve their selling approach and be more transparent.

Someone need to stop them!
