Return Refused After Tags Accidentally Pulled Off Clothes

My boss bought my daughter a pair of pants and two shirts. And she has never seen her before so I told her that my daughter was a size 10 or 11 and she thought I meant adult 10 or 11. She pulled the tags off by accident. And when I went to Macys to return it they did not allow me to and I have nothing to do with theses clothes. And when I told the lady this story she replied " that's stupid" I would really like you to fix this.
