HSN Misrepresents Itself

On 6-6-11, I ordered the Corioliss Titanium Styling Iron and the Andre Walker Ultimate Gift Set. Both were part of the Today's Special. I actually ordered the Styling Iron first, and then called back and ordered the gift set. I did not use the flex pay and just paid them both outright. When the first order was processed, the order representative told me I was eligible for the HSN credit card. I am now checking my credit report to see how this happened as I gave them no other information except my card number and expiration date.

On 6-13-11, I went online to HSN to check my order status. The status message said returned on 6-10-11 for both orders. When I called HSN, the order representative told me my order had been cancelled because HSN did not realize they had no more product. She claimed they called me on the phone, but ironically it was the only call not showing up on my caller ID. No message, no email, nothing. While watching the show, they kept showing the number available, and it never showed "sold out." It was the first time I had ordered from HSN in about 15 years, and it will be the last. I have been doing some research, and it seems this is a common practice with HSN.
