A Portland modeling agency owner has been arrested on sex abuse charges. Portland police say 41-year-old Michael William Fox had a relationship with a 16-year-old female client and intern at his business, Vault Model and Artist Management Company. Fox will be arraigned Friday on 10 counts of second-degree sex abuse and 10 counts of contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor.

His arrest was a major shock to former Vault Modeling client Michelle Lincoln, who considers Fox a friend. Lincoln, now 20, said she met him through another modeling agency in Portland, but became a Vault Modeling client when Fox opened the business a few years ago. She often met Fox alone to go over monologues and go out to dinner, but said she never felt uncomfortable with him or when he complimented her appearance. Him being a friend, you wouldnt want to think about that, said Lincoln. And then you look back and you think, were these comments inappropriate, or where they in the business?

Police say Fox's business is located at 420 SW Washington St., but it recently moved from 1722 NW Raleigh St. Emily Ackerman, who runs a salon in his former building, said the arrests dont surprise her. There was also really, really young girls that didnt wear much clothes coming here looking for modeling jobs, she said, adding she felt he made many false promises to potential clients. He would kind of tell everyone they could be a model. Detectives want to hear from anyone who may have information about the case or any other incidents involving Fox.
