Do Not Rent From these people! You will regret it!

Due to the poor choice in management At the stratford square apartments in Fredericksburg Virginia this complex is NOT what it once was.in memory of past years this was a lovely quiet residence centrally located and residing with
mostly mature and respectful people. This is no longer the case. The units are old and show their age. Bathrooms appear unclean and moldy, shower stalls are so pitted and worn that no cleanser in the world can help it. The kitchens fare
no better and usually are much worse then the bathrooms, some units may have been renovated but most are not and also show many years of abuse by previous tenants. The lack of maintenance in itself shows the poor managment and neglect of this complex. The many managers that have come and gone unable to cope with the lack of allowance
allowed by the owners to improve the place. If you walk the sidewalk youll notice the poor patch jobs that were done and condsidered acceptable, only to be cracked and crumbling and a hazard to walking safely to and from your unit. The current management has totally screwed up the parking situation, can you imagine not having guest parking? There always was prior to the current management taking control, for the decade plus i resided here we have always had guest parking, rarely a problem that one could not find a parking space near their building, here again due to the poor choice in management, the units now contain 100% more UMW students and each one has a car. This was not a consideration and due to the clear lack of management experience the parking situation came to a head when there were zero parking spaces available with three or four cars ahead of you vying for a spot. This is unacceptable. The first solution to this was no guest parking! You are now forced to have your guests park somewhere, (not at the shopping center, not at the medical center at either side of the complex) so where? Figure it out. Your guests are forced to park blocks away (god knows where?) and then have to either walk back or you have the pleasure of shutteling them to and fro, if youre a young person having to make this walk alone and in the dark due to the poor management skills at stratford square apartments, should be deemed unacceptable and should equally give reason enough as why not to rent from stratford square aparments or thier sister complex Monticello when there are so many other apartment complexes that
offer better value, safety, security, and parking. The second fix was to take the US standard parking space size of nine feet and reduce it to seven and half feet (eight feet for the several handicapped spaces required for the few remaining seniors). This was an absolutely stupid fix, unless you dont mind being unable to get in or out of your vehicle without dinging your neighbors car and worse yet your car!

On several occasions homeless men which live in the woods behind the complex have been found sleeping and unconscience in hallways and laundry rooms. Many of these homeless men are potential sex offenders. There is NO security at stratford square at all. Building doors are unsecured and require no pass key or keypad entry.
