I have service contract with these guys for a water softener.
Called on Saturday April 30 to report problem. Told they would have repair person on site within 48 hours.
Called on Monday May 2 and told the 48 hours started on Monday. Had to give the address on the contract 3 times. Obviously talking to 3rd word country.
Called on May 4 and told they would send a reapir person in 24 hours and given name of repair company.
Called repair company on May 5. Repair company had turned down repair on May 4 and told GE.
Called GE on May 5 and they agreed to use a reapir person that I had to find.
Repair person called GE on May 6 to file repair estimate. GE told repair person to get GE's fax number from ME.
Repair person filed report on May 6.
Called GE on May 9 and told that Claims dept would get back to me in afternoon. Called GE in afternoon and was told the Claims department would call me in 3 working days.
Thus if your kitchen appliance is out GE will take 10 working days to get back to you and you can just eat crap until then.
Note that I have to call GE every time. They have never initiated a call to me.
I have talked to supervisors and customer service. No one is empowered to fix the problem.
Avoid at all costs GE appliances and repair contracts.
