Garbage services contracted by city/parish council overcharges citizens raising rates because counselors did not negotiate best rates for citizens. Lafayette Parish government city council Joey Durel promised voters to negotiate for the lowest rates available with Allied Waste a national company. The city council is also the parish council and dictates for nearby towns, and we pay the same high rates without all the services. No recycling pickup. I must drive to recycling foundation to drop off my items.in addition, Allied Waste does not pickup all large items outside the can. It does not pick up yard waste in a timely way. The Lafayette Parish Council let down the citizens by not negotiating with Allied Waste, which charges high rates because it can.
