Ripoff, fraud orange county

I went on a trial basis on Dec 13 and canceled Jan 12 this year (over the phone). The CSR told me I have nothing to worry about being charged since the account or membershipis now closed.

To my surprise, this morning I saw a charge of 79.95 by CIC. I immediately called that 800 number and all I got is "all circuits are busy now..."

So it was really annoying and very frustrating. I called my card issuer and reported everything and was told I need to file an affidavit and they need to close my card as it has been compromised. Talk about these hassles: (
I have called CIC too (after finding their toll free # on their website) and was told that my membership is opened that is why they charged my that amount.

I was like, what's going on. If it was indeed open, they they could have charged me as early as the 13th of this month as that was when my free trial ended.

So the CSR said, ok we will close the account and we will issue a refund and send u a confirmation by e-mail. The conf i got but it said i can get only prorated credit if has passed my free trial...

I have to call again and get verified and was assured though that they will give me full refund. That I still have to see. I have filed teh affidavit as well and mailed it to my bank.

Considering this CIS is owned by Experian, i thought i was dealing with a legitimate company. I also have learned, there is always a catch with those FREE TRIAL thing...
