Ok, let me start by saying that I am an ex-employee of this company and while I left on my own terms and peacefully shaking hands with Stephen I should let all of you out there know that Stephen Kordella and this company are a total rip off! When you start they tell you that you'll be making over 35,000 a year and they tell you that you'll be running your own office in a year and making $100,000 plus.in the eight weeks that I worked there I noticed that TMG ran through 7 employee's! In an office that usually had 12-15 employee's that's a 50% turn over rate, and when I was leaving they were talking about growing the office to about the size of about 30. They have you go business to business selling AT&T cell phones to small business owners. I will tell you that these business owners do NOT want ANY solicitors in their business's. I can recall several times walking into a business and the owner looking at me before I even said a word they would say I don't care about any discount on my AT&T bill, get the hell out of here. This is called an objection and you need to overcome this to sell anything. The thing is that all the managers talk about how they "help" out people by saving them money on their AT&T bills, of the 3 dozen or so sales that I made, I only saved one customer money, every other time there were new services added to their accounts. This is one of the reasons I started to not trust this company, they basically told me to go out, lie to people to get to see their bill, tell them I would lower their bill and then sell them some air card or ancient free Blackberry they didn't want and the only thing it would do would make their bill go up. The other thing you need to deal with is rejects, One customer I sold 3 air cards to, cancelled the order 3 days later because he got an email from AT&T telling him the oppoisite of everything I had told him. I also noticed that the discounts that we were supposed to applying to customers accounts for owning a business were, about 95% of the time already on their accounts. Dealing with all this BS with the accounts and customers would not have been that bad, hell I've worked retail for 6 years, I know how to deal with rude people, the part that is the biggest rip off of this company is that they don't care about their employee's, they just care about people going out making money for them and disposing of the people, they DO NOT care about long term employee satisfaction. The worst part about this job is the fact that they don't reimburse you for any expenses whatsoever.in my two months of employment I put about 8,000 miles on my car and used about 2,500 cell phone minutes calling in orders, which usually took about an hour or so. Luckily for me I have AT&T and had about 4,000 rollover minutes, however guy who worked there with me at the same time told me that he got a $300 phone bill. Right before I left, I was given a territory 40 miles from the office, that was a suburb where you couldn't walk from place to place, I worked that territory for a week before I quit, on average I put 150 miles on my car everyday that week and filled my gas tank up 4 times, and I drive a car that gets 35 miles per gallon! That week I spent $160 on gas alone. There were many weeks when I was losing money paying for gas. You also work about 10-12 hours a day. Let me break down a typical day.
7am-9am: "Atmosphere" basically you just play stupid games like hangman and practice pitching to each other. It is seriously two hours of a total waste of time everyday, 5 days a week, that's 10 hours a week that you'll spend playing preschool games, pitching coworkers, and lisitening to Stephen go on and on and on and on about the "System"
9am-5pm: You go out in the field and pitch to businesses about how you can "save" them money by adding crap to their account, you'll drive at least 15 miles from the office.
5pm-6pm: Bells, you go back to the office and ring the bells for how many sales you made that day and then you get to hear about the "system" again for about another 45 minutes.
So on a typical day you're working 11 hours, however I had many days that I would get stuck in traffic, or held up at a business, and on Monday's, once you get "promoted" to leadership you have to stay for an hour long meeting after bells, so that's 12 hours. On average I made about $100 -$125 in sales a day, you say wow, that sounds great, but I spent $30-$40 on gas, ok so I still took home $85 bucks that day, but I just worked for $7 an hour before taxes, and that's if you made sales that day, I had many days where I would just go out and lose money, basically if you want to go out and work for less than minimum wage, put a years worth of miles on your car in two months, run up your phone bill, and deal with people yelling at you and threating to call the police on you then this the perfect job for you.
