NCO FINANCIAL ripoff lying ignorant rude indignant unsubstantiated B.S

My husband was an authorized user on some of his grandma's credit cards when she died back in 1996. They mailed in a death certificate and all was well with all of the companies, but one. One (GE Card) was trying to hold my husband responsible for the debt.

They asked him to provide his social security number and amount of gross income, because as only an authorized user, they had none of this information.in 1998 or 1999 GE wrote off the debt (which does not show any longer on his credit report) and then sold it to NCO Bankers Trust.

Since that time, we have not received anything further. We have NEVER recieved anything from NCO. The only reason we know about them is because they show up on my husbands credit report. We tried to call them and reason with them. Explain to them how he isn't responsible for it, and they asked me "what idiot told you that? They lied to you, you can sue them." After a few heated words, they asked if I was going to pay it, I told them "no" and they hung up on me.

I knew there was something wrong about them, but I never expected this.
