Claimed to be a model from another state requesting Avon products for purchase.individual said their manager will send me a cashier's check to pay for their order but would not provide their telephon

An individual presenting themself as Jesse Katherine contacted me Dec 09 requesting to purchase Avon products from me via my Avon website. They used the name Jesse, Katherine and provided an e-mail address of Lauren. Mith@yahoo.com. The individual refused to provide their telephone number and refused to contact me via phone after e-mailing them for their contact information. This morning I received this e-mail message:
Hello,

Good to hear from you. My name is Jesse Katherine, I am from Kentucky but will be coming to Wisconsin for a showbiz. We have prefer to order online but for now all purchases in our company are done with paper payment so i would love you to place the order for me. Below is the list of items needed:

After you send me this information the Manager of our company will mail you a check for the payment, which you can cash instantly at your bank because we need these items there in Wisconsin before the date of the event and they will be picked up at your location Upon my Arrival in Wisconsin... I was skeptical from the beginning because of the name used and the e-mail address didn'tmatch the name. I went on to respond to the e-mail requesting this person send me their phone number so I can correspond with them. I also asked for their event location and date. So far I have not received any feedback. I looked up this company and I have discovered that several Avon Independant sales reps, like myself, have been receiving these type of scam inquiries.
