Travis Stackhouse Failed to pay contracted employees

Travis Stackhouse, owner of Stackhouse Mortuary Services, workd as a trade embalmer for several funeral homes in the following areas: Navasota, Texas, Bryan, Texas, Huntsville, Texas, Conroe, Texas, Bedias, Texas, Bellville, Texas and Madisonville, Texas, along with other locations when necessary.

He often hires freelance, licensed funeral directors and embalmers to assist him in various locations, to help funeral homes needing an extra person for funerals, to transport deceased, or assist with embalming. While he doesn't have a facility of his own, he uses various embalming rooms for embalming procedures.

As I mentioned, during busy times or vacations, sickness, etc., he will use licensed freelance individuals for assistance. Unfortunately, I found myself in an assisting position, while he was out of town, to handle an embalming procedure for him in Bryan, Texas and a few other jobs throughout the area. I use the word unfortunately, because, upon his return, I was never paid for the embalming in Bryan. So, not only was I out my fees, but my gas and time as well. I later learned that while Mr. Stackhouse is licensed, his business is not. Of course, as I mentioned, he does not have his own facility, which I do not think all of the funeral homes are aware of, or the families whose loved ones are sent to him for care.
