I had seen the ad for this agency in El Classifcado Magazine claiming that they will set you up with at least two employers daily and that one MAY hire you and etc. I went in there and the three ladies that were there spoke only in Spanish. I spoke to one of them, Alicia, and she claimed that there would be at least two leads from at least four categories of jobs offered and that I could apply and take it from there. I paid the $60 dollars to be placed on their sign in computerized system. I gave them my ID so that they could photocopy it and they wanted me to use my SSN as a pin number to sign into their computer system. The computer system would not work on Fridays, and the messages were illegible and difficult to understand. The companies and places that required my services looked shady at best. Then for a month the computer which was programmed to say "NO HAY NUEVOS TRABAJOS" (there are no new jobs). Last week, the week of September 27, after more than a month I finally complained to someone. The woman who answered the phone in only Spanish (and fluent Spanish at that) and didn't give her name became livid just because I was upset and insisted that I agreed t o only one job listing and that I didn't login after the 21st (of???). She then claimed that she didn't understand me and then I said then go back to your country where you are understood. She told me to go back and I said in Spanish: "I'll go back and be the next Castro but in your country" and hung up. I am Latino but our "brethren" from Latin America to insult people who were born here (like me) or are now citizens claim that they "DON'T UNDERSTAND" our Spanish. I called again and this time I got someone who sounded like Alicia and explained to her what had happened. She then begrudgingly said in Spanish: "I see that you signed up for four types of work leads and I will change it right away". Then she said that I had insulted her co-worker and then I interrupted her and explained that the "situation" is so bad out there even I was tempted to mug someone for money. She instead of saying "don't do that sir" she said ins Spanish: "THAT'S YOUR OPTION!" I then fling back in Spanish: "I'm NOT the kind that doesn't give a damn to be like that..." She interrupted told me: "ME VALE MADRE A ME TAMBIEN" (I don't give a F* either buddy) I hung up the phone. She called me back to tell me off told me in Spanish: "That's why they bounce you from your jobs A*LE" (Por eso te botan de los trabajos viejo baboso), Having no other recourse and seeing I was taken my ID, dignity and $60 my only recourse was here!
