Nextel/Sprint has decided to incorporate features into my phone service that I can't use. After my outgoing message is spoken, an automated spanish voice prompt's the caller with an option to leave a message in Spanish. (this I found out after my customers and friends laugh at my message because I speak english. Nextel/sprint has interpreted the spanish message for me, what is being stated.)

I do not speak spanish, however I do not feel that my customer's when they call my phone should feel that I accept messages in Spanish. I have called nextel numerous times to speak with someone different, hopefully to receive a better solution.

The only response that I receive is that this can't be shut-off and that it is all. I have two cellular phones. One has this Spanish service, the other one does not. They are stating that this change is going to affect all cellular phones. Nextel states that if someone leaves a message in Spanish that the phone will tell me that it is in a different language.

HOW am I going to tell the Spanish person that left me a message in spanish that I don't speak spanish! You can't, but Nextel states that the spanish speaking person calling you will know wether or not to leave a message in spanish.

That's just great! Now when I have a new client that calls my business and they haven't dealt with me before, they will assume that I receive messages in spanish. And if I don't return their call they will feel that I am not interested or I am to busy with other customers.
