Ismelled a leak at the tank and asked the man filling the tank to checkit. He told me it couldn't be leaking that it was fairly new andinstalled not that long ago. A few years later i demanded a leak checkthey charged me $100.00 for the leak test. As soon as the man came andopened the lid he told me it had a big leak and had been leaking for along time. He said he could tell by the fill valve it was all black andquite thick. He said the person filling the tank should have noticedthe leak. This goes to show that they do not care about the customerssafety I had a 1,000. Gallon tank filled the day before the test andhad paid for it.

He disconnected the tank until they could replaceit. It took them 3 weeks to exchange the tanks they replaced my 1,000gallon with a 500 gallon tank this was in Dec. I live in Mich.
Theytold me they would be back in the spring to level the tank and bury thelines. I have called 4 times they still have not finished the job in2 yrs. They come out and tuck the lines under the tank. There is about 4 ' of line laying on the ground.

Ihave contacted them several times only to be told they would return mycall not once did they return my call until after I contacted the newsmedia then within 15 min. They called me back. They promised me and thenews station they would make it right wit me they still have not thiswhy I am writing this.

After they installed the 500 gallon tank theypumped out the gas from the 1,000 gallon into the 500 gallon tank. The1000 tank leaked 280 gallons in that 3 week period.
Then theysend me a bill for $ 4.29 a gallon and I had already paid for the gas. I called and their solution was they would reimburse me what I had paidfor earlier $ 2.29 a gallon and then I could pay the $4.29 a gallon. Itold them No that It was an even exchange and that they owed me gasfrom their tank leaking for years.

I was going through over 2,000 ayear now about 350 gallons when I contacted them again they just giveme the run around and said they do not understand how I was goingthrough 2000 gallons before and now only 350 I told them becausetheir tank was leaking. They have no intentions of making this right. Ihave all the paper work stating it had a large leak etc and am send inall information to the attorney general. I suggest that if anyone elsehas had any problems with amerigas to do the same. It's the only way tomake them be held responsible for their actions.

I have been a customer of amerigas for over 10 yrs.
I will be buying my own tank or going with another company I'm not sure yet until I do more investigating.
Everyone that has had problems with amerigas needs to file a complaint with the ATTORNEY GENERAL To get anything done about amerigas!
