Complete RIPOFF

Do not get your taxes done at HR Block. They can only handle a very small amount of problems that do arise, and if you should ever need help or customer service, you're screwed.

I got my taxes done in Feb. It took 2 months of working directly with the IRS to get my refunds since someone was using a social security number in my family and HR did not handle that. I had to make at least 5 trips to the HR Block to just get them sent out and I never got a copy of my taxes.in June I needed the taxes to fill out my financial aid. The office I went to was closed for all but tax season. I went to an office that was open on a Sat. They could not find my taxes but promised that they would send it a request - 2 weeks tops I would get it. I never got anything.

That office closed and I called another one. They of course did not help at all. The I got a call form someone claiming they were form the previous office and that they were sorry, still looking, and I should ifnd my receipt for a refund if they could not do anything.By August I had talked to about 10 people in different offices and noone could help me. Everyone was nice, but noone actually did anything and I never got a call back from any one of those HR workers.

I got the phone number of the asst. District manager and spoke to her; she swore up and down she would not ditch me but would get to the bottom of it. Never got a call back and messages were not returned. More messages were left on the voicemail for her, Wendy, and the district manager but nothing was done.

I have filed a complaint with the better business bureau; we'll see what happens. Now I have long since missed the deadline and missed a semester of school which could have been avoided by someone helping me and at the worst, redoing my taxes which is what I paid them for.

I highly recommend going to a local, smaller tax prep agency instead of HR Block. If you ever have a problem, they will not be there. I missed a semester of school because of that; what if I was going to be audited? Go to someone that's open year - round and accessible in the off - season.
