I eat my words the jack is crap! DO NOT buy it!

I bought my magic jack last month. I was able to get it work with a bit of effort. It worked fine for about a week then all of the sudden I would get the message that it wasn't plugged into the port. That was a lie it was! I read on here from someone else that they bought a USB hub & it worked. So I bought a USB hub. It did work at first like it did in the beginning. After that it quit working. At this point I threw in the towel.

I did call customer non support and we went through the same 2 hour routine of me telling them my problem. They wanted to access my computer remotely to play with it's settings. No way, no how. Why??? If the product worked like it's suppose to all I'd have to do is plug it in, download the software & it'll work. I am not tampering with my computer's settings just so this piece of crap can/may/might work. If it sounds too good to be true it is!!!

The only good thing I can say about the product is if your computer is not on people can still leave you messages which you can retrieve anywhere in the world. I still don't think that's worth the $40 they charge you for the product! I've also seen where people have had their service cut off for making "excessive calls." People who've paid ahead for 5 years of service have had their service cut off within months. I think that's fraud. I think all of us should get together and file a CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT. This crap device does NOT work as it SHOULD. When you buy a product it should work. You shouldn't have to tinker with your computer to work around the system.

If you plan on returning it go to the web site, get the RMA & do it right! I've seen where people have returned the product without going through the proper steps! Good luck with getting a refund that way!
